Solutions for Wall Problems
Because there are several different causes of bowing or leaning walls, there are also several different solutions. It is important to have your foundation walls repaired as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the worse the problem will become, leading to more complicated and expensive repairs. The most common solutions for bowing and leaning walls include:
Applicable for minor to medium concrete and block wall deflections. Most cracked and bowed walls meet the criteria for this solution. Carbon fiber is cost effective and permanent.
- No foundation excavation or drilling required
- Carbon fiber straps will not deteriorate or rust
- Lays flat on wall and can be painted over
- Does not protrude like bracing, ties, I-beams, or other foundation repair systems
- Permanently fixes cracking, moving, and bowing foundations
- Foundation repairs are guaranteed for the life of the home
- Quick installation-usually finished in a single day
Concrete and Rebar
Strength is the term most associated with concrete and steel. Accessing the block walls from the exterior we insert rebar down hollow cells and fill the wall with a high strength concrete grout. This application is more expensive than carbon fiber and is most appropriate for larger deflections, wall straightening and shears. Again this is a permanent solution.
Steel Reinforcing Beam
Not the most ideal solution due to its appearance and protrusion from the wall, however, is necessary when a shear is present and the wall isn’t accessible to grout.
Designed strictly for solid concrete walls or core-filled block walls. Anchors screw into the ground to tie the wall upright. Applicable for solid walls or walls with little to no compression load.
If a collapse has occurred reconstruction must be stronger than before. Our walls consist of bi-directional steel reinforcement and are filled with concrete. This application is also necessary for failing stone foundations.
